In response to increasing demand for safety-critical applications, QNX Software Systems today announced its new IEC 61508 Certification Support Package. Designed for customers building safety-critical systems in the automotive, industrial, medical, networking, and defense industries, the package combines QNX Software Systems´ certification expertise with data to support the certification process. It also provides guidance on an effective strategy for achieving IEC 61508 certification, up to and including SIL 3, for systems based on the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS.
